How did you get into photography?: someone told me they wanted to pay me for something i did and it grew from there.
What do you typically shoot?: i shoot whatever peaks my interest.
Where do you typically shoot?: wherever the contradiction is. i like to shoot things that shouldn’t be there. like a naked girl in a gas mask in the woods. i prefer location shoots because natural lighting is always better than artificial.
How do you compare shooting in the studio to on location – any preference?: as i said… i prefer on location because i prefer natural lighting. i like real places… dirty places. i like lived in places. i like studio shoots too but only when they are magical made up and fantastical… i can shoot anything anywhere. i’m easy…
How would you describe your shooting style?: i enjoy shooting a wide variety of subjects. i like people, places, and animals. i love faces of all kinds. eclectic.
What’s the oddest place you’ve been for a shoot?: i don’t really consider any place odd, per se… i think boring places are odd.i quite enjoy the “odd” so what the average joe would find “odd” i would find wonderful and normal and not odd at all…i’ve never been anywhere odd for a shoot.
Are there any particular themes that weave through your work?: surrealism, fantastical fun, and neat little creatures. faces… did i mention that i like faces? so faces are in my work a lot.
What equipment do you use?: nikon. all nikon
How do you feel about digitally enhancing photos?: love it
How would you like viewers to react when they see your images?: i would hope that they would have cause for pause and then have something to think about and enjoy.
When you show your work, do you have any particular strategy to how you select and arrange the photos?: nope I go with the flow
