How did you get into photography?
I don’t really remember? It was that long ago!! Have always loved photography, and hunting for that special light and shot.
What do you typically shoot?
People, places, things….just about everything! I would have to say live concert shooting is my favorite due to the challenges with lighting and cluttered stages.
Where do you typically shoot?
Outdoors, all seasons! I am fortunate to travel a lot for work and always bring some camera gear along.
How do you compare shooting in the studio to on location – any preference?
Since much of what I do is photojournalistic in nature, I prefer location. I realize the need and benefit of studio shots, but it is too sterile of a look for me.
How would you describe your shooting style?
Bright, colorful, and expressive. Even when shooting B&W film the shot should still be “colorful”.
What’s the oddest place you’ve been for a shoot?
Shooting a Polar Bear Club “plunge” at a frozen lake in February at 5 degrees!!
Are there any particular themes that weave through your work?
I prefer candid looking shots when shooting people, and when shooting inanimate subjects a little action in the frame never hurts.

How do you feel about digitally enhancing photos?
It is the nature of the beast
How would you like viewers to react when they see your images?
Joy, fear, moody, sad, awe, or whatever emotion I was trying to capture in the shot.
When you show your work, do you have any particular strategy to how you select and arrange the photos?
Not really. I may subconsciously leave what I think is the best till last, for that final positive impression.
