Current City?
Chicago
Do you prefer on location or in the studio?
I think both have something special. However, on location shoots can really get creative and edgy, where studio shoots are some what limited.
Is fashion world / modeling world really that competitive?
It is extremely competitive! Sometimes a client is looking for something very specific and other times they are just looking for general qualities in a model. In both scenarios, you are up against tons of girls who are absolutely beautiful. I can be tough.
What are your hobbies?
I love to sing, dance and act– as well as model. I grew up doing musical theater and I love all aspects of the entertainment world! I also love playing with my puppy and hanging out with friends.
Girlie Girl or a Tomboy?
A definite mix of both! I love softball and volleyball and I played both my whole life… but I always made sure I had some makeup on and my hair looked cute!
What has been your favorite photo shoot?
Hmm… that’s a tough one! So many of them have been such great experiences! I did this great shoot with Randy Korwin (773 Photography) for the Basia Frossard Collection a while back, and we shot in complete darkness! I would pose, and have to hold absolutely still because the shutter was so slow. It was really fun, and the pictures are like nothing else I have ever done.
Is there an adrenalin rush when you are behind the camera?
Absolutely! You know that you have to give all the energy you have for a picture to turn out right. If you hold back even 5%, you are going to waste your time and not get the shot. When the camera turns on, so do i! – It depends, based on every shoot. If there is a theme to the shoot, you have to put yourself in that environment and turn into a certain character… if there isn’t a theme, you have to make it seem like there is one, and have to keep creating different emotions and ideas to get a diverse group of images.
What do you think about before stepping onto a shoot?
It depends, based on every shoot. If there is a theme to the shoot, you have to put yourself in that environment and turn into a certain character… if there isn’t a theme, you have to make it seem like there is one, and have to keep creating different emotions and ideas to get a diverse group of images.
Coffe or Tea?
Coffee– I need that caffeine!
Has anyone in the industry asked you to change your look?
I have been asked to change my hair color… that’s about it.
What do you think is your X factor?
I think I have the girl next door look, or the All-American look, but with a sexy edginess.
How do you keep a fit and healthy body?
I try to eat healthy… but I always splurge every once in a while! I have a sweet tooth!
Who is your favorite photographer?
Gilles Bensimon. He has phototographed the most beautiful people in the world!
A little piece of advice for new models?
Don’t get discouraged! Keep trying and you will get your break!
