Model Interview – Bangkok Model Ying Wang

Do you prefer on location or in the studio?

I prefer on location shoot. It is funnier and more realistic. I feel more alive when shooting on location. Everything around me always inspires me.

Is fashion world / modeling world really that competitive?

I think so! As for modeling, there are scouts everywhere and they keep searching the right looks and right models! But if you’re talented and have a really special character, you will be able to stand out among crowds! As for fashion world, I am still quite new to this industry. But competition is everywhere in every industry. Work hard and take advantage of good opportunities!

What are your hobbies?

I love music and reading. And as a girl, i love clothes, shoes, and handbags…We collect them! haha! I love travel too!

Girlie Girl or a Tomboy?

Tomboy!

What has been your favorite photo shoot?

My favorite photo shoot was with Mike Dowson. He has a special style. When i worked with him, it was difficult but easy. Well, the difficult part was you couldn’t pose but to be a true you. Of course, being yourself is quite easy! But i needed to express myself and felt truly emotional and sexy. But i like that! Brilliant experience ever!

Is there an adrenalin rush when you are behind the camera?

I do! Actually every time i am experiencing this rush! I’ll just manage to make myself comfortable and be sure that i am ready for the shoot! Concentration is the best thing that i keep reminding me.

What do you think about before stepping onto a shoot?

I will just let myself go and make myself feel relaxed and comfortable and boost my confidence!

Coffe or Tea?

Coffee!

Do you have an interesting happening from a photo shoot, or a casting?

Hmm, a lot though! But there was one time i was doing a full nudity fashion shoot. The makeup artist is a guy and he is kinda shy. He needed to stick the bling bling gel all over my body. Both of us were a bit nervous and hardly made a move in the first 5 minutes. Then we just kept talking and totally made ourselves relaxed and finished the makeup in 20 minutes! It was really funny experience! Everytime i thought of that, i just cannot help myself laughing! haha!

Has anyone in the industry asked you to change your look?

No! They all like my look pretty much! I’m so happy with that! Thanks, mom and dad!

What do you think is your X factor?

My super expressive face! My eyes can speak!

How do you keep a fit and healthy body?

I am so lucky. I am that kind of naturally slim. But i do keep an eye on what i eat. I drink a lot of water and try to skip those fried food. Well, it is all about a balance. Because we all need to indulge ourselves every now and then. I like jogging and yoga! I always come up some interesting exercise for my body before i go to sleep. It is a must for me.

Who is your favorite photographer?

I’d say, PETER LINDBERGH!!!

A little piece of advice for new models?

Keep fit and take good care of your body! Do feel confident in front of the camera. Nobody wants to see a nervous and unreadied look.
